We have multiple Ricoh's and they are put to bed each night and woken up when needed. Even after a three week shut down last year then they worked perfectly when woken from their slumber.

We've found with ours that if switched off for a period of time it does a cleaning cycle every time it is powered up. If left switched on, although it wakes up periodically, it runs a cleaning cycle much less frequently. If you use Sawgrass ink I'd guess that the ink saved pays for the standby electricity consumed many times over...

If you do a few prints a week then turn it off, if you use it everyday then I would recommend leaving it on.

I suppose it all depends on the amount of use, I leave mine on unless I go on holiday, but then it works quite hard everyday of the week.

we leave ours on all the time. used about 4 days a week. think we avoid startup cleaning cycles, so save on ink, but not that sure .....
