Printing to Cotton..Help please.

Looking at printing to dark thick cotton, short run and one offs A3 size as minimum. Thoughts on the following...

Roland Versa studio BN20
Oki A3 white
Epson Inkjet on relevant paper.

As hard wearing as possible when it comes to abrasion. Wash temp not a problem as goods in mind are 30 degree wash. Also would look to print on tote bags of various colours to open out the options from sublimation.

As far as I am aware I have never actually seen a print from a Roland on cotton.

I am only at the pondering stage, so all pointers welcome.

Versacam is really your only option at the moment if you want A3.

The OKI A3 white has registration problems. That is why TMT have their A4XL paper, I don't think they even sell the A3 printer because of the problems. There are some really decent media's for heat transfers for the Roland so abrasion should not be a problem. My only comment would be consider something a bit bigger than a BN20. They are incredibly slow.

In terms of media, I recommend SISER, bot for printing suitability on a Roland and for wear and tear. Speak to GRAFITYP who will send you a sample pack of their products for you to have a look at. Alternatively wait for P&P

TMT transfers are easier in terms of production and will easily handle a 30 degree wash. I use the T.ONE on hi vis vests for a national builders merchants and not had anyone complain yet.

Cheers. One of the reasons for mentioning it now is so as I can have a year to think about it....normally I am impulsive, but for some reason this has me pondering.

I had recalled there was some problem with the A3 OKi white, so that answers that. P+P it could be.

I would go for eco solvent printer.
There is VERY descent clear film to print on for light garments from grfityp. also loads for darks. Only thing is, if you want more than a3 on a garment then hand would be terrible.
