Hi guys,
I've just started out 3d sublimating phone cases with a vacuum press.
The print quality is coming out great however the cases don't fit the phone after they've been vacuumed and was wondering whether anyone else has had this issue / knows of an easy fix for this?
I did check the cases pre-pressing and they fit perfectly so I'm guessing there's something I'm doing wrong while curing.
Any help - much appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Phone cases warping after vacuum pressing
Are you putting them on a dummy phone to cool down?
Leave them a while and they tend to shrink back in to shape. If the cases are fitting pre sublimation then they might be too small as they should be slightly too big before printing.

Re: Phone cases warping after vacuum pressing
Hello, I think you bought cases for film. Indeed, they are smaller than paper ones. The reason is that film needs less heat and less pressing time (as far as I'm concerned, it's 180 seconds at 115°C) while paper requires something like 360 seconds at 180°C. And the more you heat (time and temperature), the more the case shrinks. My film cases shrink just a little bit, enough to fit perfectly the case, while the paper cases were way bigger and shrinked much more, just to fit the phone. I hope I made it clear.

Can I assume you have the correct metal insert for the phone?
