Hi!

I'm looking for a Vinyl cutter that cuts other materials also but more professional and more vast in terms of dimensions and projects that silhouette cameo probably cannot perform.

What would you recomend?

The Graphtec CE6000 range is really good. We have the basic 6000-40 and use it for vinyl. The 6000-60 is a good second hand buy if you can find one.

I have an 18" Silver Bullet from Thyme Graphics https://www.thymegraphics.co.uk

Excellent machine and support. They've just introduced a new camera system for easy, dead accurate alignment of print&cuts.

For the Graphtec:

We buy vinyl in 500mm wide logs as it is more cost effective. Vinyl is all that we use this machine for although there are other options. If you are looking to widen your scope further then the next step would probably be a machine like the Roland Versastudio BN20.

I've no doubt the Roland BN-20 and others are good machines, but as the OP was looking to step up from a 200 quid Cameo I think the £5,000+ price tag of the Roland might be a bit off-putting. It certainly would be for me.

I still think you can't get a much better machine for the price than a 24" Silver Bullet. It has the highest cutting force of any machine in its price range.

Also, any printer can be used for print & cut so you're not reliant on the in-built printer which, if you're not interested in print & cut, would be a total waste of money in any case.

Still, if money is no object, then that would certainly widen the field.

Vinyl cutters do not use a great deal of force - they do use a great deal of precision and a sharp blade. The Graphtec cutters would be a good upgrade from the excellent A4 sized Cameo. Machines like the BN20 have a place in this industry, whether the OP is open to considering something similar either now or in the future is up to them.

Hey

Thanks to all responses! I've saw a cameo cutter and they go through cardboard and other materials but I get the impression the blades get used fast and would like something more professional and with a wider range of what can do, besides small projects like the cameo, what do you think?
