Empty sawgrass carts

Does anyone know if our empty SubliJet carts are recyclable? If so can they go in our household recycling bins?

Nothing indicating 'recyclable' on the cartridge and nothing found on 'tinternet so I would say no. It does look like there are places that will buy them to 'recycle' as cartridges but that looks like it better suits those with a large quantity....so in essence it looks like the landfill bin.

That's what my search found but I wondered if someone on here who uses them up quicker me may have found an answer.

Black plastic and ink still seems to be a big issue for many councils, but I suggest that you google ink cartridge recycling. Lots of charities can benefit from your old cartridges and some supermarkets will also provide incentives.

Normal ink carts seems fine but as it i a different kind of ink I was unsure.

The remaining ink and any sponge material must some how be processed, broken down and treated - its not as if you can mix different makes of ink and reuse them. Epson, Canon, HP etc are generally not interchangeable. I am sure that mags could explain better if he sees this thread.

You would think that Sawgrass would offer some type of recycling back to them.

Where do we stand on WEEE regulations? - as consumers I thought Sawgrass had to legally take them back and they handle the disposal, as businesses are we even allowed to dispose of stuff like this in a bin, or have to take/send it to someone able to deal with it properly?

My local Staples and copy shops take them back to recycle.
