Anybody had any problems with MDP's Bright Red Hotflex?
I don't use much of it but the last two batches I have had ( spread over nearly a year) have not been sticking well. It has been hard to remove the backing when hot. I have tried letting it cool, in case they have sent coolflex by mistake, but it is worse.
After pressing the vinyl is clearly not stuck, and I have to re-press using more temp. and massively more pressure than for the rest of their hotflex vinyls. Takes several attempts before it is suitable for sale.
Is this an ongoing problem, or a bad batch?
All of their other hotflex colours are working fine.

Re: MDP Bright Red Hotflex problems
Have you pre-heated the shirts before printing, moisture and vinyl do not go together all that well?
I have used mdp hotflex and if there is moisture it will take a few attempts to get it to adhere the the fabric, always pre-heat the shirts to get the moisture out, i usually pre press about 3-4 times.

Re: MDP Bright Red Hotflex problems
Yeah, I generally pre-press any garments before applying vinyl. The red is the only one I have had trouble with, and like I said over two batches spanning a year. Ousually rate Hotflex as a good 'go to ' vinyl.
MDP say they have had no other complaints.

Re: MDP Bright Red Hotflex problems
never had a problem with it, I have had issues with the white mdp vinyl where it seems an extra bit tacky when trying to remove and it will leave a residue on the garment and also the vinyl transfer, i just rub my fingers over the vinyl and it peels off, then do a repress afterwards and seems to be ok

Re: MDP Bright Red Hotflex problems
i use it regular and havent had any issues, i do find the drop in temperture outside has a little affect on weeding so if cold i weed on a warm platen, (not to warm though.)
