A bit of background, as it would be great to get to know some other people who are working from home!
I'm 33 years old, from the north of england.
In my youth (which seems like many years ago now) I worked as a waitress, customer service advisor, admin assistant and inbound sales advisor (I wasn't bad at selling, but it wasn't my vocation. I wasn't born to sell ice to eskimos; I can only sell products that I believe in). I then suffered depression for a while, and later became a full-time mother (becoming a mum was the best thing that ever happened to me).
I've always known that I want to work for myself, my own hours, so that I can fit them around my son (in-addition to the fact that I don't have a string of qualifications; I didn't go to university and don't have a degree. And in the north of England jobs are sparce. Even people with degrees are struggling to find work.
Thankfully I'm an optimist. And in my quest to find the perfect job, I've stumbled across this mug-printing business!
I have been trying to find poster printing dropshippers (not an easy task). I've looked into T-shirt dropshipping, but the overheads are so high the profit margin would be miniscule, unless I bought my own T-shirt press and printing equipment (which I can't afford right now). The mug designing seems more affordable, and I think would be more successful in my niche. It's not really a niche that would tread on people's toes, that's why I'm considering it.
It would also be great to talk to other people who are working for themselves. As I'm sure you'll know, working from home can be a lonely job, there's no office banter!
Right, that me introduced, back to the forum to scroll through some posts
