Stahls Basic Cap Press

I have bought a used Stahls Basic Cap Press to do a small job.

Arrived yesterday. I have turned on and it heats up fine. I set it at 190 to sublimate a cap & while it was open the temperature showed 232 on the display. It moves when I close. Is this normal? I don't have a manual. If anyone has experience of this press any info would be appreciated.
