Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
hi I have recently been asked to create files in corel draw ready for cut with gx24. The issue I'm having is when selecting gx24 as a printer it wants to begin the cut from the top of the image. for example I have an a2 size file with a line of text repeated down the page from top to bottom, how do I set this up to begin the cut from the bottom of thr page rather than it feeding all the vinyl through and starting from the top?
Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
I may be wrong but I think all cutters start from whatever was done first on the page. I can't explain it properly but will try. Say you type
" Second to the right
and straight on till morning"
like this and then added some stars around the design
" *Second to the right*
and straight on till morning*" ( I know there not stars)
the plotter would do the text first and the the stars afterwards as this is how the design was made.
Hope that makes sense.
Just turn the text through 180 degrees and then cut. The top is now in the bottom right hand corner.

Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
thanks for the quick reply, the problem I have is that the entire page is a single text box where I have copied and pasted a sentence all the way down and I cant create this bottom up and or is seen as one object. I thought about flipping 180 but have a feeling it will do the same again, funnily enough I made two files the same way with same settings and one worked perfectly

Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
so if I wanted to do 10 copies of the same image how would I get it to cut the lowest on the page first? sorry I'm a little confused.
Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
I never use text boxes. I would type my text, click on it hold down left mouse button and move it above the original text and the right click to make a duplicate. Now I have two lines of text one above the other. I am sure there is an easier way to then produce
a whole column but I would them highlight both lines and repeat the process.

If you type the bottom / last line of text first that should be cut first.Quinsfan;110373 wrote:I may be wrong but I think all cutters start from whatever was done first on the page. I can't explain it properly but will try. Say you type

The plotter will cut in the order the design was made.

Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
I have just seen your other post in an old thread. If your cutter is set up a a printer then it may always cut from the top left as that is how a printer would print. I can only go by the experience I have with my Graphtec which has it's own cutting program.
Can the Roland not be set up as a plotter instead of a printer? Is there not a driver or plug in for Corel Draw.

Re: gx24 and corel draw starts cut at top of image
i have been asked to do it for someone else on their system and they like to cut directly from corel draw, personally i think installing something like signcut and using the application launcher to go to signcut would work better. he cant find his disk for the gx24, if he does will he find that there is a software on this that he can use in a simiar way?
