Looking for some help....
I am having issues with my Ricoh SG3100 DN colour set up.
Printing output to my powerdriver through Photoshop (Windows 10) - colours are coming out on paper darker than what is on the screen (especially reds). I have tried printing via the printer and the colours seem to be a little more vibrant but i have been told not to print this way and to go through the powerdriver. Using Sublijet R inks.
I have conflicting information from two sources....
http://www.colourphil.co.uk/photoshop.shtml
http://sawgrassink.indigofiles.com/prod ... CS6-PD.pdf
Any help appreciated before i launch the printer down the stairs.
Cheers
Nick

For the record - i think i have viewed every thread in this forum since i joined and have not found the answer i am looking for here.
I've also upgraded to premium so i don't feel so guilty about asking so many "newbie" questions;)

Hi Nick,
The sawgrass link is the way to go as it's specifically linked to using the sublijet inks with Powerdriver.
You cannot compare what you see on the paper with your screen. The colour changes when it's sublimated on to your chosen item. Powerdriver allows you to pick the type of substrate you are using, e.g. unisub, ceramic, polyester.

Thanks Skye, understand that the colours will never match the screen.
I have printed out from the printer output (not the powerdriver) and the reds looked a lot more natural to the on screen graphics, so there is definatly an issue somewhere with the powerdriver printing set up.

I have attached an image - the forward facing image is printing normally, the darker is using the powerdriver printing option

I have went with the powerdriver instructions also but no joy.

The print on the paper can have little correlation to the actual colours on the substrate once sublimated. So have you tried to press the paper yet onto the substrate? Also, what paper are you using?

Yes i have printed onto a mug and the output is that the reds are too dark (same as on reversed image i uploaded) - You can see on the normal forward facing print the reds are perfect. Using Truepix paper supplied by BMS.

I'm going to ring Sawgrass in the morning and see if they have any suggestions. Cheers all:)

Photoshop is going to do a better job of colour management than PowerDriver, you have very powerful professional software there, so use it at what it is good at. Get the Sawgrass ICC profiles for you printer, and use them.
Calibrate your screen, and use Photoshop in proofing mode, and you'll get a very good representation of what will be printed on the product - PowerDriver don't give you this.
