Re: 9600 issues

Post by Quinsfan »

Hi Guys
As you may have read I recently got a 9600 and have now got the inks. They are genuine epson inks. The first thing is that when I loaded them in only the black has moved along the lines to the print head. I have done many power cleans and they have pulled some of the other colours along the lines but not all the way to the head. I have done several nozzle checks and all that prints out is the black.

I have tried to you tube my model and how to clean the head but i seem to find all different models but the 9600 and even if they say it is the same for mine I cant seem to get it to work.

I have seen the videos about putting a wet paper towel under the head over night, does anyone do this?

Is there a way to remove the lines from the head and suck the remaining ink through.

Has anybody got an links I may be able to use or could point me in the right direction.

Or even tell me how I can get the head out and soak it over night. I was given cleaning fluid with the printer along with some empty refillable carts, which I assume were used to clean the lines and head before.

Any help or advice will be wonderful.
Cheers
Iain
Many thanks

"init fill". That's if you haven't done it. This is the first thing to do as it "initiates the filling of the lines", hence draws everything through. You will also need to make sure you have set it for "black" or "photo black". When you look up the "init fill" it will explain the two black options as well.

I will try and find that. All the instruction manual said is put in inks and wait no mention of " init fill"

I have now performed the init fill and got a slightly better nozzel check but still one of the lines is only half way there. It didn't move but on a power clean it moves. I don't want to keep doing cleans as the ink is expensive.

Remember there's also a hidden supersonic clean which will take up to 40ml of ink but could well drag all air out.
