Hi,
We have a good quality single mug press at the moment and are using the Ricoh printer & inks. We got this about a month & a half before Christmas, so we could get used to it.
As we are new to sub, we were pleasantly surprised once we had our timings/heat temp right at the quality and consistency of our 11oz Durham mugs. As an add on product to our canvas wall art & photos we thought we didn't do too bad (we sold around 200 mugs in the last 3 weeks of December.
I suppose my question is.. Would it be better for us to go for a 4x multi mug press with individual controls or buy another couple of single ones. We do have a brand new 3d oven which we haven't tried yet, but looking at some of the posts we are concerned about consistent results. There seems to be a great deal of controversy on the matter of the 3d for mugs in batch.
We don't want to spend a fortune, but we don't want a rubbish Chinese import. Does anyone have any advice on this?

ask justin (admin) about multi mug press's
think you will find the general consensuses is that they are pants my friend.
better buying 3/4 separate mug press's - if i,m not mistaken, there are new double mug press's out now, but again, i have not seen much liking to them on here either

Hi BigJ,
Thank's for the info.
What seems to be the problem, even with the doubles. Is it accurate temp settings for both/4 that are the problem? If I need to buy more singles, then ok. Do you have any good suggestions without breaking the bank?

Cheaper units are a complete waste of space. There are a couple of decent ones but not cheap. Cheaper to work with individual presses imo. Blue line do a good one but if I remember correctly its £1k+. I did enquire with Amaya about this but their response was poor.

The great thing with multiple single presses (I use 4) is that if a problem occurs with one, you just carry on. If a multiple mug press goes Pop...you have a problem. I have a spare blanket in stock just in case needed.
The other advantage is being able to mix pressing different items of different size, temps, and times.

We only have multi presses. Had some doubles initially which worked well then moved on to 5 head units which we have 5 of and all good. No problem with one going down as easy to sort or temporarily work around. We have started switching to ovens which might be another consideration for flexibility.
Depending on your workload a couple of singles or more can add flexibility but all depends on what output you wish to achieve per hour.
