Hi,
This is my first post in the forum and it's fair to say I know very little about dye sub printing, so here goes.
I recently bought a secondhand Omlec OP900 off fleebay for the princely sum of £39. The printer was listed as untested/showing a media error. I was told the printer was being used very recently at a theme park based in the midlands so is believed to be working.
My question is, can anyone recommend somewhere that I can either buy cheap media/part used etc so I can test the printer before I buy new (priced at £130ish)? Or if there is alternative media to the manufactures (Citizen) media?
I bought the printer to test the market as I have a events photography business, if it proves successful I may invest in a smaller more portable unit. But for the moment I just want to see how popular it proves.
thanks for reading, any advice very much welcomed as I'm a noob to say the least!
Rich

Re: OP900 media advice
Or if anyone can recommend a forum that may be able to answer my question that would also be very helpful.
Re: OP900 media advice
Hi Rich,
I've not seen this printer before, but having looked on the Photosmart website it looks like a printer that prints a finished photo onto special paper using a thermal head.
On this forum we are printing with sublimation ink onto a transfer paper, then using a heat press to apply the ink onto a variety of items, e.g. mugs, coasters, polyester material.
I don't think your printer works the same way as the ones I am familiar with, and probably explains the lack of answers, sorry I can't be of more help.
