I am experiencing the worst item not receiving cases ever ..It seems at least 10 % ppl are claiming its not received or slow ..I normally post 1st class and they are next day delivery ..But this year some ppl claiming they got theirs in 5 -6 days like second class ..I really don't know this is Royal mail or doggy bunch of customers (Some eBay customers are there for Free items ) and I cannot believe how many I had to re send or refund ......I am so fed up with this now and thinking of sending sign for (But my stuff are expensive to many sellers and dot want to add more ).. ..How about you guys experiencing this ...??.. What you guys do to prevent this specially doggy claims ..??....

Touch wood, I have been lucky so far this Christmas. Having said that, today will be the panic day if stuff hasn't arrived. Reading on the ebay forums, some sellers when faced with the problem of 'non arrival' inform the buyers that they will be passing all the information over to the Royal Mail investigation team. Apparently, it is surprising how many items suddenly 'turn up' when given that information. You may want to try that tack.................

Royal Mail have been a nightmare this year. Items sent first class have taken up to 6 days to arrive. I did a test to check. Posted a letter to myself at my local post office (300 yards away) first class on the 14th December. It took 4 days to arrive back. Also my items not received have shot through the roof from maybe 1% of all items to around 6% of all items sent. "Certain" areas of the country have seen a huge jump whilst others have remained around the 1%... so I'm unsure if its the customers in those areas or Royal Mail in those areas....

if i send anything of value - either financially or time - then i send it signed for, it only adds about a £1 to the post, and makes it harder for your customers to not have stuff show up.

a lot of the reasons they now open cases, is thats how ebay want it, everything reported properly. if its one of my pin badges thats not arrived i normally reply with the following, your item xxx was sent out on the xxx its RM 2nd class and normally that takes 2-3 days, you are now on day xx if it has still not arrived by the XX(normally 7-10 days depending on what they have ordered) we will send out a replacement item. i have had 4 items posted back to me now, where we have sent our replacements, and then the post office have delivered. to date we have never had an issue with signed for - even 2nd class

Some customers just want to watch you burn. I had a customer (from Sweden) that had their item shipped through the Global Shipping Program who sent a message saying the item had not arrived and wanted a full refund immediate and then who left negative feedback before I could reply (an hour after they left the message) then opened a case about the item not arriving. I contacted eBay CS and they confirmed the customer had received the item and signed for the item. Case closed, feedback removed - but what kind of numpty thinks that they can get away with getting a refund on an item that they have signed for that was shipped via courier from eBay itself?

Many couriers are self employed and get a few pence for each package.... it's a long day for them often starting with a 4/5am delivery each item they have to scan or type in before they can even get on the road lots don't stick it for long and can even be out of pocket on fuel in rural locations.

I have a large pile of returned mugs. Customers either don't receive a delivery card or couldn't be bothered to collect them. This is after all the abuse over email. Some don't even bother to reply to my emails as if they have vanished off the face of the earth.

Yes. It amazes me that people can place an order, and then when you contact them shortly after for whatever reason (usually to ask what personalisation they require on their PERSONALISED product) they do not reply until at least 2 or 3 reminder emails have been sent. I thought with smart phones etc people are always into their emails - aren't they?

The new trend is that customers shouldn't have to ring delivery offices or collect their mail.
