Upgrade to Virtuoso SG 800
Re: Upgrade to Virtuoso SG 800
I am considering upgrading from my SG 400 to the SG 800 (should have gone for the larger size in the first place!) and assume that as I already have Powerdriver installed I would just need to install the printer drivers and the job is done? Or am I missing something?
Re: Upgrade to Virtuoso SG 800
The printer driver and PowerDriver are combined in the SG400 and SG800 so you would need to install the complete package but as you've done it once it should be a piece of cake doing it a second time

Looking around they seem to be about the same price. I also have 3 unused inks for my SG 400 which also go in the 800. I could sell them with the 400 and go for a package or just get the printer. I see Listawood do the 800 on its own for £550 which taking off our discount looks a good deal. Unless anyone knows better....

Re: Upgrade to Virtuoso SG 800
I am brand new to printing and wanted something of quality / reliability / economic which would suit my needs for mug tile and sundries to compliment stock tshirt transfers I press.
I took my time and read all the reviews including forums, which led me to the Sawgrass SG800 [although it seems quite fresh on the market]
but is a bespoke sublimation printer designed by Ricoh and Sawgrass to be better than the SG3110 and better value for money and quality printingwise.
[although presently quite expensive to buy [especially as one has to pay the thieving gov't a further arm and leg at 20%].
As you have an SG 400 - the 800 is just bigger [and more economical than the 400 - according to reports] - if you are satisfied with it and the results why change systems ?
I have bought a brand new SG800 from BMS - but it was a nightmare to install and I could not get the thing working.
However thankfully you get free support online and offline from Sawgrass with the product.
Their aftersales care has been excellent.
It took a few days of toil but it's working perfectly. [BTW if it didn't they were ready to take it back and sort the problem at their expense - no messing] which is exactly what you want.
They have me on their follow up list too in case anything else goes south of birmingham !

Re: Upgrade to Virtuoso SG 800
alternatively, if you are in no hurry to get the 800 and you could hang on until the end of January, Listawood will probably have them on promotion to coincide with the Trade Only Show.mags1892;107292 wrote:thats excluding VAT look on ebay you can get them for a bit cheaper

Had an offer on a second hand SG7100 from eBay accepted. Installed and tested and works faultlessly. Saved a fortune on what I had considered purchasing.
