What am I doing wrong?!
Re: What am I doing wrong?!
Hi everyone I'm new on here and new to sublimation printing on mugs and like most, I'm not getting it right at all. I need help.
This is my printer
this is my press these are the results i'm getting
I've read a few things on the net about why this is happening ie times, paper I'm using etc. I did use the original ink that came with the printer which are these cartridges and then I installed the sublimation cartridges. Maybe the old ink is still in there and needs flushing out?
ANY help would be much appreciated. I've had the thing for a month or so now and I'm becoming very disheartened by it.
Thank you
Anth

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
What's your temp and times?
I used 180 deg for 180 sec. When I put a mug in the temp drops so I wait until it's back to 180 then start the timer.

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
Yeah I've more or less tried every suggested time and none have worked. I either get a faint outline of the image which just rubs off or this yellowy burnt image which I've photoed there.
Re: What am I doing wrong?!
I could be wrong but judging by what's on the printer I would say you are using standard bond paper and not paper specific to sublimation.
Also do you know if the ink cartridges are sublimation based?
Thanks

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
If you has standard inks in, then as you say they may need more time to flush then out, as a noob myself I couldn't say how you tell when this has happened though, bought mine as a lot and installed the dyesub inks from the outset. I do know the initial fill takes what seems 25% of the cartridge

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
have you got an ICC profile for your inks and paper, you should get this from whoever supplied you with the printer.
Many thanks

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
Not that I know of. I bought the printer separately from the mug press etc.Quinsfan;107077 wrote:have you got an ICC profile for your inks and paper, you should get this from whoever supplied you with the printer.
