Re: Tearing my hair out

Post by Pinksmiler »

Ok guys. i bought myself a brand new WF3010 Epson printer. However i can't print out the colours on the screen as true colours. For example, blues print purple. i have been emailing back and forth to my ink supplier who has tried his best to help but i spent £15 posting out sublimated colour test sheets to get absolutely no where. I'm so frustrated. What seems so easy is proving very difficult. Does anybody else have this printer, maybe i could use their colour profile??/

have you actually tried pressing anything, as the colour printed, often bares no comparison to the pressed colour

do you have a custom icc profile set up or a generic one? that could be a cause but i think more likely answer is what mrs maggot said

the important part is to use a good quality paper, i have received samples to profile which are not a good quality IE the print is all mottled and really if i made a profile it would be no use. one thing you cannot scrimp on is the paper although many try. Also bare in mind your screen almost certainly will not be accurate unless its a high quality one and you have calibration hardware and software to profile it. Solid colours are a pain and sometimes you need a chart printed out to get the correct RGB reference colours for your application.
