Morning guys,

I wonder if anyone has experienced the problem when textile vinyl is pressed to clothing and white peeks through at the cut edges?

Here's an example where I'd printed to an Xpres vinyl - Xpres XP3030 & 3031 Easy Print Textile 50cm Wide.

I clearly can't let this hit the streets and I doubt whether any customer would accept it! So, what's the solution?

Cheers

John

Is this a printed vinyl? I don't have a vinyl printer myself. Why not do it with just blue vinyl or is is specific blue?

Yes, it is a printable textile vinyl. The reason I don't just buy a blue vinyl is that if I had to do that for every job I'd need to purchase a lot of colours and in shorter lengths, hence I wouldn't get a better price. Also, I have seen this happen with non-printable vinyl too!

One suggestion has been to cut first and then print - the ink will fill the cut. I'll try that.

Thanks for the reply Iain.

Cheers

John

I've printed 100's of meters if not 1000's and never had this happen. I've occasionally seen a clear halo due to the glue spreading out but never white edging like you have.

Some of vinyls need to dry before actual pressing. I noticed this on printable vinyl from grafityp too.
