Re: Help Laptop died

Post by Quinsfan »

I am hoping someone can help me. The laptop connected to my Graphtec cutter has just died. It came pre loaded with Illustrator when I bought the cutter off of ebay 7 mths ago. I have downloaded Cutting Master to use with Coreldraw on my other laptop but I doesn't work, I think it is due to my version being so old.
Does anyone know if there is a free older version of illustrator out there.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Technically there is no way to legally obtain a free version of Illustrator. The whole of CS2 Creative Suite can be downloaded for free, and Adobe do provide a serial number as the activation servers were taken offline some time ago, but they do state that "Only customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products may use the serial numbers provided during the download."

Thats what I was talking about. You can get it free, but technically your not supposed to unless you own an original license for it.

I don't think Adobe really care, as they'd probably rather people use a version of CS2, then a pirate version of CC, but they do state it's only for people who own original copies.
