Printer for signage

I'm looking to print a range of signs for outdoor display, they will most likely sit behind glass but will be exposed to a lot of UV light.

I don't want a massive investment, but would a colour laser printer or maybe a pigment ink inkjet printer do the job? The signs only need to last a season (one year or so).

A4 - A3 printing onto thin card or decent photo paper.

I have do this for mug bases and they are still on there. I have also done a Harlequins Jester ( My Rugby Team) for my car. Both are going strong and the car one had not faded, it has been about 4-6 mths.

You could use this material and then apply it to a foamex board or even reverse print it and apply it directly to the glass with a white vinyl to back it up.

Interesting material, pity it is clear though as the extra white vinyl and trying to cut shapes make it a little labour intensive...I need an easy life..... But the more I think about it, the more I like it, no big printer investment.
