printing tie clips

Hi

Any of you good people had a go at printing tie clips or rather the 16mm square aluminium inserts to stick into tie clips? It looks fairly straight forward - print transfer, lay blank over printed patch, tape in place and press. Its the fact that it looks straightforward that always sets off alarm bells for me and makes me think I have missed something!
