Problem printing on A5 sub film

Hey all!
When I print on A5 sublimation film (clear) the ink "pools" and letters/shapes dont print clearly. When I print on gold backed film it prints crisp and cleaqr (but it doesnt sublimate well). Does anyone have a solution to this or have run into this problem in the past?
