Photoshop Mac - ICC Profiles

Hi

I have a really basic question about profiles.

When using Photoshop on a mac do I just create my design as normal with a default RGB colour profile and then when printing choose the sublimation profile?

Or do I need to assign a sublimation colour profile to my design AND also choose the sublimation profile when printing?

You should create your document with no profile whatsoever, and select the profile within the printer settings themselves. Any profile you use on-screen will interfere with whatever you're sending to the printer.

Not strictly true, your document should have a document workspace ICC profile (usually Adobe RGB 1998) and then your printer profile is then used for the printing. Your monitor then should also have its own ICC profile too. They are all different and not interchangeable though. Adobe RGB 1998 is not a printer profile, despite what some Ebay sub ink sellers may tell you.

I had a feeling that there'd be other thoughts on this I know some folk who will always use a workspace profile, but I've been doing graphic design for 27 years now and would never use a document profile if I'm printing to something which used its own printer profile.

Like the profile Paul created for that 7600 I bought from you - if I use anything other than a profile-free document, the output varies enough to make the end product unsaleable... for me, anyway. But I'm fussy!
