I have an Adkins maxi press with a 15" x 20" platen which hasn't been a problem for applying vinyl (or transfers) on both sides of most garments as most of my customers are adults and are size large and upwards. I usually do the front first and then pull the shirt over the bottom platen and do the back. I have a customer who wants a quantity of t-shirts in child sizes with back and front designs and obviously they wont stretch over the bottom platen. I've seen the teflon cushions that come in different sizes, will these do the job or am I better off shelling out and buying a smaller bottom platen?

Not sure what you mean , but if im guessing right you shouldnt have any problems printing the breast and when cooled flip over and print backs, i usually print all the breasts first and then backs later on, i use MDP vinyl on gilden t-shirts and never have any issues.

Today i printed this using the SUNANGEL WHITE printer and when i peeled it off i flipped over and did the same on the breast, i never put them over the platen just straight on the press.

Dave that looks great. What heat press do you use ?. I'm convinced my lack of success with with my SunAngel and also TMT TTC3.1 papers is my heat press. Though it is great with Sublimation.

Its a Adkins A3 size swing away, ive been through 2 Chinese press's and this is the best thing ive bought to date.

Dave this was the one I was going to get but for lack of space I bought the Stahls Hotronix Auto Clam. The press is good but I have checked all the other boxes with ref to the transfer papers and the only weak link seems to be my press.

Adkins are great machines but I find double sided and threading a lot easier on my Pressmech Bag Press. The gap underneath is much larger. I've done vinyl both sides just by flipping over, sure it heats the other side again but if you put a sheet under it the pattern off your Adkins won't show in the front vinyl

I just flip and press too.
I think you can press vinyl countless times without issue, only problems if pressed for too long (60 secs?) - as the thermal adhesive seems to loose some performance.

Thanks for the replies, I should have said that I'm using TMT's 123Premium Flex on Gildan Performance (100% polyester shirt & cold peel vinyl) - 123Premium Flex definitely does not like being overcooked. I think I'll try just flipping the shirt but putting a teflon sheet inside to prevent image creasing and see what happens.

123 premiun flex! mmmmmmmmmm, ive sold over 200 Gilden Performance in the last 2 weeks, Great Top, absolutely love it, i can see your logic in using a vinyl that uses less heat but ive been using MDP HOTFLEX with no problems .
