i know they are slow but i am not planing to use it for volume work. is just to have possibilities open

Admittedly it's slow but beautiful quality and a small footprint (if you don't use 440cc carts) I'd give the silver a miss and go for the white or magenta option.

It is a very good print Personally I'll hang off until I could get a Mimaki as they don't seem that much more for a far better machine. I did toy with getting the Roland a while ago myself but even though I'd probably put occasional, small jobs through like yourself, I know the speed would get on my nerves.

Mimaki CJV 30-60? I've looked briefly too, think they are faster but physical size wise, half as wide again and not desktop machines like Bn20. They do appealbut then you might think why not go bigger. I fancied a BN20 for it's size and being entry level as it were, have spoke with Roland and owners of them. Depends what it is you want to do and if you expect them to ramp up your business taking you forward or fill a spot for you adding another string to your bow. Slow is also relative, what are you used to? I've nothing to compare with however but keeping my eye open for one also. Some say get an SP300i instead as you'll end up there wishing you'd had it first but return on investment might stifle that angle, all horses for courses really. The mimaki may suit if you have the space.

I could get mimaki as there is one for sale for good price in perfect working order and is only about 50min drive away. but i heard loads of things about them. they are good, fast etc but they need to gas off or whatever you call them? graphics cant be used right away. i am not sure if i know what i am talking about but this is thing that scared me off.
And Excellent point made by mr-gobby. Size its a issue for me. not as much as money (!!!!) i prefer something smaller tbh

What Paul says, if you print on a Mimaki you need to let the print gas off for 24 hours before you can cut it. SO although everyone knows that the BN20 is about a fifth of the speed of a VS, its a tad quicker than 24 hours As many of you know I have a VS configured for white and metallic. To be honest, I have not used either of the specialist inks for a couple of years now so they are a bit pointless. Having said that, I have a business idea that will require both inks and if it takes off then the configuration I purchased will be a god send. If your business is visuals and proofs then those two colours are a must.

Price wise, I have just purchased my second Roland, this one is wider (its a 540) and has been configured for UV printing with the new LIGHTBOX bolt on, it was 8.5k plus VAT as it was ex demo (three days), so there are bargains to be had, especially straight after Sign and Digital, I suspect the bargains for this year are gone now, but if you can wait then pop along and talk to the dealers we were offered fairly new machines for a fraction of the price.

This has been purchased within 3 years of purchasing the first one. So Stitch Up is right, get it right and they are a cash cow
