Sawgrass are the company that own the patent to small format (Desktop) dye sublimation. For this reason, anyone without a big printer, 36" I think but have seen others reckon the 7000 series is fine, has to buy ink that is licenced through Sawgrass. This is Atrainium, Sublijet, Rotech and a few other brands. Basically, if it ain't Sawgrass it ain't legal..... unless you have the wide format printer.
A lot of people complain about the Sawgrass monopoly as they charge 4 times the cost for their ink but what people forget that without them most of us would never have had the opportunity to be in this industry. The software they have developed to make entering into sublimation would probably never have been done for small format users.
