Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
Anyone know of a supplier for these in the UK? Hix in the US manufacture them but I wondered if there were other options?
Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
are they the same as other conveyor ovens, like those used for pizzas, and not really specific to mugs?

Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
Really not sure, only just starting looking at them so finding out what heat source they use etc. In theory they look like the screen print tunnel dryers. I believe they take 12 minutes for mugs to cook, cheapest machine is 24" wide and does 240 an hour, cost is iro £12k. They do a cooler to fit on the end so wraps can be taken off quickly and easily. I know a member on here built his own so importing might not be necessary.
....a quick look and the heating sources appear to be the same

Hix ovens (they are for mugs) used to be sold by Listawoods. I think they were the agents. Not sure if they still are or not, but Becki and co might be able to point you in the right direction. I presumed they were the agents as they have them, but that is pure speculation.
Do you really need something that big? If not I would consider the oven that used to be sold by SERIGRAF from Ireland. Looked like a really good bit of kit and held 24 mugs (I think). 4 of those and you could be be at 240 an hour for less than 4 grand.
Or go for the 3d Sublimation oven that holds 12. I am using mine and really do rate it for mugs.

I'#m looking at all options, found a couple of 4/5 head machines but would need a few of those. Conveyor looks ideal but running costs look high.socialgiraffe;98482 wrote:Hix ovens (they are for mugs) used to be sold by Listawoods. I think they were the agents. Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
Now that looks superb...and there's an updated version which looks even better! I wonder if it works as well as it appears? This would suit me perfectly. A bit slower at 60 per hour but I['m guessing he might custom build larger machines.socialgiraffe;98483 wrote:There is always this...

Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
If you were looking at 12k for a Hix, then two of these will still be less cash.
Couldn't load the top video but the bottom one looks like it will take longer than doing it manually, note on the bottom that once he wraps the mug there is no tape...

Re: Mug Conveyer Ovens
I did wonder if it looked a little but slower but might reduce operator fatigue a little. I see what you mean, the tape is per applied.
