Hi
I have a 40 x 40 swing away press made by Joy's, it's a really good press but my problem is, I've been forced to move back into my loft but the press will not go through the hatch, is there any way it can be taken apart as otherwise I will have to get rid of it and I'd rather keep it, any help/advice would be welcome.
Thanks Bob

The answer is "Yes" all presses will come apart, the question is how?
There will be retaining lock nuts somewhere. Some presses have the knob you turn on top with a lock nut directly under that (as per my small Cheap chinese flat press). Hold the lock nut undo the knob, undo the lock nut, lift the top platten off.
Or you may find the lock nuts are under the the top of the swivel point (as per my medium Shultz press) once undone lift the platen off (heavy) , or accessible right at the base with locking grub screws and a bearing as per my large Pressmech where you then lift the top platen and the adjusting bar out in one go (very heavy!).
Hope that helps with where to look.
There will of course be other variations.
