I'm looking for a bit of advice about the above printer that I have for sale.
I have said "Buyer collects", but this is a bit of a handicap when selling from North Norfolk! I have read that one should remove the cartridges when sending by carrier to reduce the weight on the printhead. I have also read "on no account remove the cartridges as ink will leak out".
If there is no safe way to send it (It's quite heavy 16 Kg plus packaging) I will just have to hope that someone who needs one will travel to get it.
As it's an expensive item I don't want to risk it arriving damaged and a whole load of aggro starting!
I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Ray.
Transporting Epson R3000
Re: Transporting Epson R3000
strap it to a pallet - much less chance of it being dropped, knocked around, or tipped.
We've shipped quite a few Epson 4000 and 7600 models in this way. carts removed, and then the lines closed off - not sure if the R3000 has a lever to open/close the ink lines at the cart end?
We've also lifted and tipped them (and the longer 9600) to about 45 degree angles to get them around tight corners and up/down stairs, and they're still working - despite Epson saying not to do it.

Re: Transporting Epson R3000
Ray, I have the full set of ink for that (all in unopened 1 L bottles) which I dont need.. Keep the printer, buy my inks and refillable carts and your set for a very long time
shame this is not A2 as I may have been interested. A friend has given me a 1520 which I am yet to collect so at least, at some point I may still be able to make posters..
