You should always use the temp/timings supplied by whoever you bought them off - gives you a good starting point.

Hello because my insert is a Hard wood i had to pre heat the insert first because the first 2/3 poly mugs didnt come out so well and conclusion was the wood was sucking all the heat before it was heating the mug . now i just pre heat insert for 90 seconds and away i go . i dunk with insert in for a few seconds as i dont want top of mug to warp.

Hi Mugsman!

Looking at the SunFly website (), they recommend 330 degrees F (165c) for 40 seconds. They also recommend removing the metal insert immediately, whereas you're dunking with your wooden insert still in!

I've received my Polymer mugs and metal insert from BMS and hoping to get a sample done today, but the different in temp/timing is confusing the hell out of me!

I'll post my results once I've taken the plunge lol!

We've printed these up today and with our DF1, DF12 or DF14 mug press the temp settings are 125 degrees idle temp, 170 degrees operating temp, 90 seconds time. Wrap image around mug, put puck inside mug, put into mug press when idle time reached and close the clamp and then start the heat up to operating temp. When time has elapsed remove mug, remove puck (with gloves!) and remove paper. Dunk if you normally do and job done - full top to bottom vibrant image transfer.

Now i`m totally confused.com How can the insert/puck be the same diameter as the polymer mug?

On the subject of polymer products, does anyone make printable USB memory sticks? I imagine someone could do a polymer case that we could print on, and then snap the "insides" into it before passing to the customer.

Probably be too expensive, based on the usual method of ramping prices up at every stage, but it's an idea. You could buy in a bunch of printable polymer "outsides" for cheap, and then just insert whichever capacity "insides" you're selling.

Our puck goes inside the polymer mug so is slightly thinner.
