Hi Andrew - yes buddy, done this a few times and also left it for a few hours last night sitting over one ............. giving it a flush through now until all is clear, then I'll put one under so it can sit on it - I won't put the cartridges back in now until I can see no more ink coming through - just to make sure that it has been fully flushed out (in case there's a Gremlin living n there!)Andrew;54808 wrote:Do you sit the head onto a damp cloth of some sort with cleaner fluid on that as well? We have often had to do that in the past to clean the external parts that gather around the nozzles. We just get a strong paper towel and soak it in witch hazel then place that in the docking position and move head back into place for half an hour.
Right - that's it, I have OFFICIAL had enough of this epson B1100

I think Gremlins live in all Epson printers - they can work perfectly for mins, hours, days, weeks and years BUT when they decide to stop printing properly they become rather stubborn :frown:

Adam, was thinking of what Jonathan does which is to fill cartridges with cleaning fluid to purge it through. I've also done the same as Andrew in the past in having a soaked paper towel under the print head overnight. I did see somewhere they said use a lint free cloth but, don't know if that would make any difference. Good luck mate & hope you get it sorted soon.

Heres a zip file with some purging documents in. Try printing the cyan one rather than cleaning the heads and see if that forces the ink through. Good luck.

Thanks buddy - I've been running a 4 colour purge between head cleans but (don't know why) I never thought about purging just the cyan.swimwivsquid;54831 wrote:Heres a zip file with some purging documents in. Once it's flushed through I'll use these if I get no joy again - thanks again

Try meths soaked kitchen towel in the groove in the bottom of the printer and run the print head over it by hand several times and then leave it to sit for a while.

I've been using the same method with the cleaning solution I have (along with flushing it through) - not tried Meths on a kitchen towel though - is this safe for the sponge (i.e will it react with the sponge material and start to break it down?)gorgall2;54835 wrote:Try meths soaked kitchen towel in the groove in the bottom of the printer and run the print head over it by hand several times and then leave it to sit for a while.

Hi Adam B
I had exactly the same problem on my Kodak ink jet. Tried flushing through and actually went through a whole ink cartridge with so many flushes. Occassionally it did come back but only for a couple of prints.
I contacted Kodak customer services and they said it was the print head and sent a replacement one out straight away. I can only presume its the same problem in that your head, and probably the Epson one as well
has gone to the dogs.

Yeah - probably but the only thing is that this is the 'second' printer with the same fault.socialgiraffe;54837 wrote:Hi Adam B

This weekend should see what the problem is as it's being flushed through until no more ink comes out - if there's still a problem then it's a replacement printer required - epson heads don't come out like kodak/canon ones:(
