A Roland will need Versaworks to print and cut. It comes free with the printer. When I first had my machine I forgot to get an additional computer to run the RIP. I legged it up to the secondhand computer shop and purchased the cheapest web book there. It cost £60.00. I figured it will do until I get a decent spec machine. The web tablet lasted 2 years! In other words, if you are spending 5k then a couple of hundred on a small PC will not be an issue.
The rip software will run from most file types, but ideally EPS files which you can obviously create on a MAC.

Your right, think im thinking of amount of ink costs (not including materiels, application tape etc )

if i cut the roll i will have 260mm roll leftover. can smaller rolls like this be used? or they wont be accepted by machine?
My only gripe, if you can call it that, is that you have to have either metallic or white ink loaded, both are expensive! If you don't use it that often, it ends up in the waste tank.
The moral is, 'use it or lose it' - it does look spectacular though

OK. I finished my email exchange with xpres sales guys and they doing me a deal.
Just not sure about vinyl as there is quite few of them and not to sure what is the difference between them.
