I haven't done the maths, - but I know I was well into my second batch of 1000 mugs before i started charging ink carts, - and upto 2000 mugs before changing the last of them, - so lets assume this means they all ran out at 1500 mugs, - which works out at about 13p per mug. we mostly do full wrap, or photo heavy prints, - so I think the link is probably pretty good.
If I get a really big job, - I will take my carts down to the post office, and weigh them before and after.
Ink density ? - probably very slightly less than 1, - but will give a good idea to the nearest gram

I'm confused is this a good, cost effective solution for a newbie to sub dye printing to get started with?? It seemed to be a cost effective solution but 'gstk' seems to know a secret???

Its a great printer. I've had Ciss systems and the Ricoh in my opinion beats them all. Just watch your costs if printing high density. Colours especially blacks.speedrebel;48364 wrote:I'm confused is this a good, cost effective solution for a newbie to sub dye printing to get started with?? I'm not doing this to be awkward or contraversial - I quoted a job and won it. I worked out the profit based on my usual estimations of £330. In fact the ink cost £170 more than I worked out. so my profit was subtantially reduced. Had I have quoted 40p less per item I would have done it for nothing. I am only trying to save people griefgstk;48354 wrote:That I can confirm is incorrect.
