You're right that the gold and silver are detailed as being hand wash where as the other colours are suitable for 80 degree washes. This is because the pigments used in the manufacturing process are slightly different. We have done a 40 degree wash test and haven't found any issues but we still recommend hand washing these colours for longevity.

That's good to hear - I do like it when people push the boundries to see what can be done, well done Yolo
Our of interest though - was it just 'one' 40 degree wash that it was tested on ? I only ask as I would have to do at least 10 washes to be able to reccomend this as machine washible.

We washed it only three times - mainly because we haven't got around to doing any more! You're right that it takes around 10-15 washes to class as machine washable.

The adhesive qualities are consistent across the range of colours. As the other colours are suitable for 80 degree washing, machine washing the gold and silver should not have any effect on the adhesive. We would therefore expect to see a change in the finish such as the reduction in shine that you mentioned but we have not seen any evidence of this after three 40 degree washes.

As an addictive wash tester, I would be happy to cut out an intricate design and wash test this for you if it helps? I would also be interested as I have been after some 'hard-wearing' metallic vinyl for designs I use normal gold and silver.
The offers there and I could do a review on here for you
