I've spoken with the supplier (who advised me film would be fine in the ST3042) and now tell me that film is not suitable for this machine and say I need to buy the mini-machine to use up the 1700+ sheets of film I bought.
They state that the film must be held around the edges to prevent it contracting during sublimation.
I'm pretty annoyed as I spent a lot of money not just on film but the machine and all the spares I could get my hands on. Not to mention the wasted time and cases trying to get this right.
They have recognised that they gave me poor advice when purchasing and have offered me discount prices on my next purchase but I'm pushing for account credit as I don't really want to spend yet more money fixing this.
I'm getting good results with paper right now but I'm still hoping to return to film.
I've been looking at potential ways I could hold the film in the ST3042 but nothing concrete just yet.
