Epson XP-315 ink refill
Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
So we think replacement carts is the way to go?
is it worth going straight for the CISS? Or will the CISS fail ultimately because I'm using a rubbish Epson?

Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
I'd avoid CISS - they are a lot more troublesome than refill cartsthemuggle;90517 wrote:So we think replacement carts is the way to go?

Why do you think your Epson printer is rubbish - granted it is a low end home model, but certainly not the cheapest ever they've had, I think the S20 was around £20-£30!
Epson in general are by no means rubbish printers either.
Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
The results are good, but the rejection of these cartridges has caused more stress than was necessary because I really had no idea what the problem was.
Another lesson learned I suppose, shame is will almost certainly come at the price of my order because I don't have enough time to wait for replacement carts to arrive off the net, and as far as I'm aware there isn't anywhere in my town that sells the empty cartridges and chip resetters.

... also to add, a CISS uses refill carts at the printer end, so you do have the resetting problem there too.
Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
Good point! As you can tell, I'm new to all this. Things started off really well, but this weekend has been a bit of a pain.
If I bought a genuine Epson cart today and swapped the chips over, do you think could solve my issue and allow me to continue printing today?

Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
should do but.........
Epson printer’s with the latest driver software installed are programmed to lock when they detect a mixture of both genuine Epson and compatible ink cartridges installed.

Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
Ah ok. Looks like I'll spend the day trying to find some empty non-oem carts then... Any idea of places that sell them ?
Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
for price it would have to be the bay and probably Tuesday delivery might be some local traders up your way but I have no local knowledge.
Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
Thank you everyone for your help.
Ive ordered a new set of empty carts with resettable chips. Hopefully these will last me for a little while. Hopefully. It's just so frustrating not being able to print for 4 days in total...

Re: Epson XP-315 ink refill
Hi guys. Just a quick update on the matter. The replacement carts have solved everything. Although I was told that these carts had self resetting chips in and they're not resetting lol. Never mind...
Thanks for everybody's help
