Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
I don't understand the issue - there is no difference in installing an ICC profile for a Ricoh or an Epson. If you can do this for an Epson, then I can't see why you can't for a Ricoh.
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
No I don't understand either mate. The inks are very different and turn gaseous at different temps etc but should be the same steps and the same ouputspisquee;83116 wrote:I don't understand the issue - there is no difference in installing an ICC profile for a Ricoh or an Epson. Our industry wtf
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
Roobear ...you need to look around the forum regarding the differences between Epson and Ricoh usage. There is a bucketload of posts/topics pointing out that Epson and Ricoh require different profiles AND different pressing pressure AND temperature AND time.roobear;83128 wrote:No I don't understand either mate. It is wrong of you to slate Ricoh just because you are having problems which appear to be down to your lack of research.
For pressing information might I suggest you look on BMS site, as I and others did and you'll find all you need there (for most mainstream sub products) regarding pressure/heat settings. It's simple really.
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
Can you explain in further detail then, as it doesn't matter what kind of ink you are using - either a high end pigment ink for fine art printing on papers, or cheap sublimation ink from China - once you have the right ICC - either by it being supplied by the manufacturer or having a custom one made, then installing it into the computer operating system, and settting up Photoshop or Corel is the same process regardless of the type of ink used.roobear;83128 wrote:No I don't understand either mate. When I first got the printer and inks everything was brill, win 7 could not fault it. Suddenly everything changed and all the reds went pink as I am in Liverpool that is a big problem for my needs. Tried re-installing on 5 diff pc's etc
No change whatsoever, rang technical got new vector profiles and the chap walked me through so HE knew I was doing everything right, still no change. I thought it was maybe the magenta batch of ink, as I wasted most of the cartridge anyway I got a new one and still the same problems. Anyway got annoyed switched the damn thing off, sorry I bought it and two years later ( My fault I know ) the same things. I have sorted the grey not balck problem and overcooking the black to brown problem. Just wanna print damn red.
There are other threads in this ' Printing problem are of the forum ' who have the same problems.
CHeers again
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
Roobear...are you saying you left it switched/unused off for 2 years?
Regarding the red. If it is a really bright red you're trying to print it might be because the colour is outside of the gamut the printer can handle and it is trying to self correct it. Just a thought.

Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
What graphics software are you using to print with?
Can you post screen shots of how you've set up the colour management?
Assuming you are just using an ICC (as mentioned) and not also PowerDriver.

Will look into the gamut and see what happens. It is fire engine red, can't remember the value at the min.
Thanks so much for your help though
Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
to be fair, I am getting a LOT of questions about red in ricoh. Most people here can't fault ricoh and power driver but believe me, there is a lot of people who can't print descent red. Unfortunately i don't know the answer for this problem but just thought i will mention this so roobear know is not the only one.

Re: Should never have bought Sawgrass and Ricoh
We used our original templates to print on the Ricoh as we did with the Epson and one printed Red and the other printed Pink ?
Like I said I have spoken to technical on several occasions as well.
I did everything including my own stuff, just the sudden change in the printer is making me very frustrated.
It did print red and then started printing pink, yes nozzles etc are fine

Thanks Paul
Trust me, the money it cost I have researched it. I am not a novice at this.RogerC;83131 wrote:Roobear ...you need to look around the forum regarding the differences between Epson and Ricoh usage. Photoshop I will do mate. Tried adding a vector file from Sawgrass and changing the icc in photoshop as well. Using powerdriver at the minute, not happy with the reds or saturationpisquee;83136 wrote:What graphics software are you using to print with?
