with the new problem with the brown it certainly sounds like 'over cooking' so temp/time combination needs adjusting.

Hi Steve
i see what you mean when said no gauge, the problem is theres loads of reasons being fired at you as to why its not working but to be honest id still settle with its the press. I have as i have already stated a nova chrome 2 head press which never lets me down on full wrap images i also have the df 10 from BMS a cracking little machine but to be honest you pay for what you get and that press isnt that brilliant or reliable when it comes to full wrap images top to bottom i also have a machine from love cut (yes i bought from love cut youd think id learn !!) this press is almost identicle to the df10 apart from its black and the df10 is white the only thing i can use the love cut press for is water bottles all other items are crap in it , the df10 i only use for money boxes as its to unreliable for mugs i think what im trying to say is presses vary wideley some good some not so good personally i really think its the press thats the problem here and no amount of tinkering with settings will help thats just my opinion but you really shouldnt be having so much trouble printing mugs.

Steve

You're welcome to bring your prints/mugs and try them on my press.
I'm in Ulceby so not too far away.

hi brett
having a good think about it last night i think it maybe a combination of my lack of experiance and using 110z mugs with a thick base and then as you say tinkering around with settings i should not need to i did a mug last night which was a high res pic 9.6mb first one had slight fade on one side increased time by 20 secs and next to was very good so it could be also that some of my images although look clear on monitor maybe not good enough for subli printing now i have produced 2 good ones iam assuming that this should continue iam getting some better quality mugs if i still have problems with new mugs i will kindly take marks offer up popping round with my images and my mug and hopefully come up with a final answer what size and resoultion would you regect as being good enough to print ie for examle 600k i always save my images at 300dpi thanks for your reply brett and for your offer mark see what happens with the new mugs

the resoloution or quality of the picture shouldnt cause fading as you described a bad quality print will just produce a bad quality picture on a mug . you say the sides are fading? this sounds like your print may be too wide so when you press it the heat element isnt quite reaching the edges the width of your print should be no more than 20cm wide

and me....200 x 90mm and make sure the heat mat is snug on the mug so it looks like it's slightly wrapped around the ends.
