Hope you get it all sorted out soon Adam. I've used Magic Bullet in the past when I had the D120 & it worked really well.

Thanks guys - I have some stuff coming tomorrow, it's not Magic Bullet but it has some good reviews to it ................... we'll see how it goes :)

Don't know if you guys have found this on the net but Cobra Inks are a very helpful company. I have bought a couple of printers off them and their support is very good. Obviously not practical for UK based people but the support is helpful and I have pasted this from their website.....

It is necessary to print at least once every 2 weeks if you are using a ink system with dye ink.  It is necessary to print at least once a week if you are using pigment ink.  If you don’t, you stand a chance of the print head drying up.   Most of the time head cleaning will refresh the head but the longer it sets the less likely it will be reversible. 
Never use alcohol on any ink jet printer! These printers are water based printers and alcohol will dry out your printer.
Make sure that your filters on the outside tanks do not have dried ink in them, this will stop the air flow from your printer and will cause an issue in printing.
 
Soaking a Print Head

I have had good luck clearing a dried up print head by soaking the print head in hot water.  We have a chemicals available called clog busters that is also very effective. Hot water works good. To do this turn on the printer and just as the print head starts to moving to the left unplug the power cord.  This will unlock the head so you can move it right and left.  After moving the print head away from the park position (full right) look under where the print head was parked and you will see a small silver grate covering a cores piece of foam this is the ink pump head.  Using a syringe and needle (or eye dropper or even a straw with your finger sealing one end will work) fill the sponge with hot water (the hotter the better  use this to fill the pump head until it domes up from surface tension and then slide the print head slowly back to the parked location. This will place the print head directly in the pool of water after 30 or 45 min. repeat one more time and then let it set over night.  The next day run a head cleaning and a nozzle check if still plugged repeat this entire process.  I normally use a Styrofoam cup and the microwave to make a small amount of hot water.
If when you do a nozzle check the paten changes and areas that were there now are not and other are that were not before the head is not plugged you are losing ink supply for some reason.
Soaking a Print Head Wide Format Printers 1100/1400/1900

To do this turn on the printer and just as the print head starts to move to the left unplug the power cord.  This will unlock the head so you can move it right and left. At this time you will need to plug pinch or close the waste line coming from the pump to the waste tank. After moving the print head away from the park position (full right) look under where the print head was parked and you will see a small silver grate covering a cores piece of foam this is the ink pump head.  Using a syringe and needle fill the sponge with clog busters to fill the pump head until it domes up from surface tension and then slide the print head slowly to middle of the printer then plug the power cord back in the wall outlet and then press the power button one time.  This will put the printer in a power down mode and will place the print head over and down in the clog busters.  Then let it set over night.  The next day unplug or unpinch the waste tank tube and run a head cleaning and a nozzle check if still plugged repeat this entire process.  This is different from the small Epson printer is because the print head pump assembly is not spring loaded. Never power up the printer with the waste tank plugged as it will blow the tubes off the pump.

Oh - I forgot about the 'hairy arms' bit .................... the missis saw this post as she walked past my laptop and she had A RIGHT SAD ON all night - don't know why?
(maybe the truth hurts - and this last bit is just for my wife in case she secretly views my posts!).

So - after getting more ink today and a new cleaning solution I went to work on trying to solve the problem.

The first thing I noticed on the 'guide' attached was to warm the cleaning solution first by placing it in a cup of hot water - this makes sense as it will help clear any blockages (I thought).

That was this morning and about an hour ago I re-installed the cartridges to find the same blockage - on the blue, same as before!

Now, I bought a BRAND NEW b1100 about 2 months ago due to having the exact same problem on the blue, however this printer was running a ciss system.

The new printer had refillable cartridges installed and a brand new set installed today - with the SAME PROBLEM!

I tell you what - I have no idea what could be causing this now and it's now at the point where any orders that were waiting will now have to be refunded if I can't fix this!

Anyone think of anything I may have missed?

Check your ink. I had a case a while back where I had gloopy strands in the black ink bottle. This was a new bottle as well. I am not overly impressed with quality control of the SG inks as it was something that should never have left the factory. I filtered it through a pair of my wifes tights and was surprised to see how much gloop was caught. This would definately clog up the carts. In my case it was clogging the tubes of the ciss. Worth a check.....

ummm - that's an idea ................ only thing I haven't looked at is the 'ink' itself ............... but I did put new ink (i.e a brand new bottle) in the blue cartridge today and still no joy :(
