what for ? this cotton flex ?.......

just to add...it is crap for weeding out small letters...and i dont like the bloody stuff anyway...really hard to feel/see what bloody side to print on...
You cant just pick it up and see at a glance ...you have to study the flipping stuff to decide whats what....and i have ruined about 3 sheets in doing this already...no more !
but hey ho....cut setting for me after much farting about were -
click smooth heat transfer material + i used cutting mat...
speed 5
thickness 33 !!!!!!
and blade No2
had to double cut this dam stuff even at thickness of 33 ffs...just so it would cut enough for me to weed it off the board .
like i said...this cotton flex, its not for me but others may have better luck with it....have bought other samples elsewhere, so see how i get on with it

Well, it is definitly easier to cut sign vinyl I have found on my cutter and that might just be because it is a damn site cheaper if you make a mistake

I take it all back it has taken me almost 3 hours to weed 3 lines of text, albeit they were perhaps a tad small and a tad bit fancy! I still feel like the need to borrow one of bigj2552's keyboards for a bit of anger management. At least they are now weeded and the transfer tape applied. It wouldnt be that bad if I didnt have exactly the same 3 lines of text to weed tomorrow

lol@ keyboard

at least you can get transfer tape on yours....i got to take the bloody letters up some at a time...depending how well the welding of the letters went.....i cant use transfer tapes on this cotton flex stuff.....you gotta lift it straight of the cutting mat after cutting then turn it around, then place on your t-shirt, sometimes letter by sodin letter:mad:...i aint doing that every time.....must be easier and quicker way of doing it....whether its the material, or the operator(me),we shall see when i get new material through this week.

like i said- have ordered a shed load from another company to see if there is any differance.
off to buy a lifter or spatular, or what ever its called, to help lift the vinyl off the mat

Well, my t-shirt flex is great. It is a thick clear coat with the flex on the rear side. So you just cut the lettering out mirrored, weed and then you have your lettering on clear carrier. You then just place over your shirt and press through the clear carrier, then peel the carrier away and repress for a few secs to make sure. The only issue I have with it is it comes rolled up but is rolled the wrong way which makes it a tad difficult to get to stay flat when in the cutter. I must admit however that so far I am more than happy with my TC631E cutter. I did visit a small t-shirt shop in Birmingham the other day and watched what they were doing. They used a OKI laser printer to print onto heat transfers, contour cut with a graphtec machine and then pressed on to shirts using 5 secs at 130 deg and no extra pressing. The result seemed fine and is making me wonder whether to try transfer paper and my epson inkjet on a few cheap cotton shirts. I often think that my search for quality results is not the same as my clients expectations and that they are probably more than happy with lesser quality if it looks good to begin with.

I am however still looking for an answer to the 'flock' question and is the 'flock' the americans use for making rhinestone templates a different material to what we can get as 'flock' in the UK.

I wonder if anyone can answer that question or do I have to buy a sample of flock to see?
