My first flat press was from ebay and it lasted me more than a year. It only went wrong because I had a power surge that blew a lot of stuff anyway! The replacement I got was from ebay as well, and it is still going strong!

Yes, you can get something that only last five minutes, but you can also get them that last quite a while. I got my mug press same way at same time, that thankfully didn't get damamged when I had the surge. Printer Epson 1500w with CISS and an external waste tank. I modified the cartridge lid, so that if it should go wrong and I needed to call out an epson engineer, they wouldn't reject the repair work. But as it is now out of warranty, not a problem.

Cheers guys. Who do buy inks from? Some are saying they sell original ink very cheap but in 100ml bottles. And will I need a colour profiler? Sorry for novice questions. I keep searching and others questions only answer parts of what I want to know. I'm a firm believer in word of mouth.
