Just a quickie, can I sublimate on PVC material - i.e. fake leather?

Propably not if it is PVC. Some rubberised materials perhaps but it comes down to heat and then the polyester content or finish to hold the print. Most materials of this type will melt before allowing a decent print if it did have a receptive surface.

Yeah I thought the melting may have been a problem, any other material suggestions anyone?

Hi John,

The first video shows the print onto a material flap that is stitched onto the faux leather. These have been about for a while and are available through quite a few suppliers over here. Xpres have a decent range of the leather look type. The second isn't sublimation but Magic Touch transfer paper. Martin at BMS could probably fill you in on that stuff.

Good luck,

Andrew

I've been looking into getting a laser printer for the cotton aspect of things, so I guess I can use it on leather and maybe pvc.

Martin, is the transfer paper available in A3 or A3+

There are 2 types of TMT Paper for what you want to do - TTC for textile (light coloured cotton garments) and CPM for hard surface products (e.g. leather, ceramics). TMT page is http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/transfer/index.htm and it comes in A4 and A3. We can beat TMT advertised prices for their papers.

What A3 lasers are compatible with the transfers paper, any recommendations?

There is an Oki A3 which is recommended by TMT, but I can't recall the model number right now.
