Hi, I'm Hugh and I'm new to sublimation printing and have stumbled across this forum while researching for diversification of my perspex presentation business. Its amazingly informative and I've become a paid up member within a matter of hours. I am looking at supplying a small niche market with images that I and a friend have taken over the years.

I've already learned not to buy packages from e-bay, get a British heat press and buy new if you can afford it.

Cheers,

Hugh

Thanks,

Im currently weighing up my options on what equipment to purchase. Im not sure if this is the right area to post this, but here goes!

I am looking at firstly producing mugs and then progressing to T shirts.
My Images will be Photo Images with a slogan, some changed to one colour cartoon type, badges and shields.

I had first thought of purchasing this starter kit from Listawood,

- A4 Ricoh PhotoGift Starter Pack;
A4 Mug Package includes; Ricoh SG 3110DN printer Set of 4 Sublijet-R cartridges Box of 36 Durham Duraglaze Mugs Standard Genie Mug Press Pack of A4 trupix paper 2 rolls of heat tape ICC colour profile.

Then progressing to T shirts purchasing a flat bed press and Laser printer, I would like to print onto 100% cotton. Maybe a OKI white printer from TMT, but these are £2K

My questions are:

Would I be better purchasing the laser printer from the off? and initially use it for mugs.
If buying a laser printer do I need to buy a white capable printer?
If I buy a none white capable printer, is it worth buying from TMT with enhancements e.g.
A4 TMT/OKI 610 Digital Colour Laser Printer
or to just purchase one maybe a C301/C511/C610 from elsewhere?

I am aware that the C301 is not supported by many of the paper manufacturers.

I am a novice and will learn mainly by experience, "mistakes"!! I do value good advice and I'm willing to pay a premium for a printer if that seller provides good back up.
Any experiences advice gladly received.

Cheers, H
