Epson WF-3010 & Inktec Sublinova DYE

Anybody using the Epson WF-3010 with Inktec's Sublinova Dye?

I can not find a ICC Profile anywhere for this combination, I have tried the Sawgrass Power Drivers with no luck so if anybody can offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

The only ICC that InkTec supply for a small format printer using Sublinova is an R230 (IIRC) which was an old Epson 6 colour printer. Even if you're using a large format printer, they only have a few ICCs available, as you're best either making your own or getting custom ones made.

On advice from the person I purchased the ink from I downloaded and installed the Mac Power Driver - http://www.sawgrasseurope.com/technical ... er-drivers

But the profile does not show up when I goto print and I have followed their instruction sheet for my version of Photoshop.

I am currently getting a custom profile made but want to continue down this route of investigation incase someone already has this combination of ink and printer or the profile I am having made also does not work.

The person you bought the ink from doesn't know what they're doing/talking about if they're advising you to use Sawgrass' ICC (through PowerDriver) for InkTec's inks - it won't be right.
There is no reason your custom ICC won't work (assuming you're getting it made by Paul, as per the link I gave you, or his sale on Ebay)
A custom ICC is specific to the printer it is made for, as each printer is different - a profile made for your 3010 won't be right on another 3010

Pisquee, that is completely WRONG, how do you think epson or any other manufacturer profide BOXED profiles. You can indeed use a POWER driver if the inks are similar and I indeed use the 1400 powerdriver for the INKTEC inks to GREAT effect on USUB products.

A custom profile isonly really needed if the printer / ink combination is not available like the 3010 is not available on powerdriver anyway, or if you need it TWEAKED a little,

I do custom profiles for clients but this can be expensive as it requires a number of prints on a reasonably flat smooth surface. So i tend to ask for placemats as these are similar to many products including MUGS. T shirts can be an issue especially wide weave as this will fool the spectrophotometer.

Ive been involved in profiling inkjet since well before sublimation was around on inkjet printers and was doing this on IRIS manymany years ago (even before ICC ).

You might be lucky and get colours close enough using a different profile, but ultimately the only way to ensure the best and accurate colour reproduction is using a custom ICC made for specific printer/ink/paper combo.

Powerdriver is designed for Sawgrass inks and Trupix paper, and as such will only be totally accurate with the specific printer, Sawgrass inks, and Trupix paper. Even then, a custom profile can still make a huge difference in available gamut.

WHilst I do NOT disagree with you im afraid QUALITY in this market is im sorry to say LACKING, People do not CARE if the phone case or mouse mat isnt exactly the colours they asked for as long as its close. I so WISH it was the way you say as Id make far more money as this is my specialism. The only people I do accurate colour management for are a small amount of Photographers and a smaller amount of garmet and sublimation clients but I do the majority for high end Packaging and Proofing colour in the CMYK + Device N colour spaces however these guys ALWAYS use a RIP.

With my Inks on sublimation I offer FREE profiles not many take me up on it as its costs them for the materials they print EG placemats being an ideal as theyre a reasonable size but id require 4 or 5 to make a decent profile.

Blimey your customers are tight! A few place mats and a bit of postage, hardly need to raise a mortgage.
Some of us here do our own profiling (Monitors and printers) so some of us are fussy. I do know what you are saying though, my wife is a photographer and we are aware very few professional photographers bother either with their screens or printing at all, never mind sub printers.

LOL Tell me about it .

Yeah lots of photographers have pretty substandard monitors for retouching too I sell the high end eizo or nec spectraview which can show large colour spaces, however many jst use bog std cheapo brands.

I try and sell complete solutions but also produce myself and I use Xrite i1 and Isis for calibration of monitor and printer.
