Paul doesn't make them.. and no one is copying him.. he's stating a fact that the person with that mug is breaching more than one copyright and treading thin ice..
Behind every great man.. is a surprised mother in law..
I saw it the other night and wondered how anyone could photograph a mug that looks so badly produced, featuring a guy that I didn't think anyone had even heard of since the 1980s, and with such a poorly composited design. I see some dreadful looking things on eBay, but this is one of the worst. Yet, the description reads "Looks great." I'm sure if Joe Longthorne saw this he'd have it pulled too, and not just for copyright purposes.
I had a nice one the other day where a numpty sent me a picture (a very good picture) of a mug, and said can you print this for me?
The website of the original printers and image designer was visible on the mug and they are still in business and still printing the mug....Ohh they were a little bit more expensive, and I mean not even a £1!
The photo they sent me was lifted directly from the website...
Some people are really wierd.
Suffice to say I suggested they go to the original printers.

On another one I had a request for an image to be printed, but it was a Canadian Death Metal band. I posted back saying I couldn't do it because of copyright etc.
The customer then sent me a detailed image to print, with screen captures of conversations with the band members, then a letter from their merchandisers, and a letter of authority for single item print, etc etc there was stacks of it!
Turns out the item they wanted, I was the only person who printed it, and the band front man had had one printed by his wife years ago and was often seen with it when chilling around friends. He had said to the fan that if she could find the same product she could have one printed for herself, as she did he honored his statement.
The downside being I am not allowed to name the band or mention the product....and this was made very very clear!
