Re: Epson 7890 Profile
I've had my 7890 a short while now, Sawgrass profile is really poor imo. I'm using the Subli Jet E Pro inks. I've emailed SG to discuss this but would like to know what others user think? I have a couple of custom profiles, one from Paul, the other I've done with my ColorMunki, we're not quite there with either for a number of reasons so interested in hearing from other users.

You can't say that and then not expand on it! What's the issue?Justin;97186 wrote: I have a couple of custom profiles, one from Paul, the other I've done with my ColorMunki, we're not quite there with either for a number of reasons so interested in hearing from other users.
I am still running on the sawgrass profile and have found a few issues, yellows can be a bit weak, brown can have a hint of green in it. But otherwise it does well.....or does it?
What have you found?

Lol, didn't want to expand until I needed toJMugs;97191 wrote:You can't say that and then not expand on it! What's the issue?
Biggest issues I've found are very light/pale skin tones and lack of printed detail. When I change to a custom profile I get far more detail but as mentioned previously I'm still not happy for other reasons which we're looking into. Vector graphics seem to be a bit of an issue with colours being darker.
Have you tried any other profiles? It's possible I didn't set the printer up correctly to print off my charts, bit more complicated than with the smaller Epsons!
Do you get any blocked nozzles on a regular basis and are you printing daily through this printer Janners?
Re: Epson 7890 Profile
Hi Pisq. I am on the 7890 with Sawgrass Inks.
Justin I am printing daily and very very (twice in six months possibly) rarely get a nozzle blockage...by that I mean if I do a check I may have just one bit of 1 line vague. Quite a bit of my stuff is photograph work so there will be a variation from the original, but compared to the sawgrass profile in photoshop and the end result, it is very close. The rest of my vector based work is through Coraldraw X6, and again it is very very close.
I haven't played with other profiles on the basis that it all works so I'll leave it alone.
Mine was delivered and set up by xpres. Set up was straight forward.
I notice that once again ..... I haven't been any help!

Re: Epson 7890 Profile
Same here, SG inks (Subli E Pro) I have also asked about the nozzles, not heard back from Sawgrass just yet.
Re: Epson 7890 Profile
Hmm I have the IQ Pro Photo Cartridges as opposed to the Subli E ink.
Hey at last I may have been of some use!

Re: Epson 7890 Profile
I did debate going that route but after speaking at length with my inks supplier I decided the E inks were the way to go for me. I assume you're using a RIP with the IQ inks then?
Re: Epson 7890 Profile
Hi Justin.
No RIP used. My printer came from xpres as a "used" item. Cartridges already installed and about 90% full. I just run it straight through photoshop or Coreldraw. Now this raises the question of "why would you need a RIP?"

Re: Epson 7890 Profile
A week and still no response from Sawgrass, very disappointing. I emailed them prior to purchasing the printer asking about warranties, preferred ink sets etc. and that email also went ignored. It was only due to some excellent advice from iSub that I knew exactly which way to go.
