OK, there is no way round it i have to switch off and move my printer, any tips on what to do, or is it liable to use up a sh*t load of ink whatever way i do things ?? having all new worktops fitted, and getting rid of the last computer desk to give me more room (well i can dream that bit) for all the computers/printers and storage of my on line stuff

Iam not sure why, but i disconnected my ricoh from its power source quite a few times and never had a drama with using up loads of ink when maintenance is in progress. so not sure if i am just lucky or others over reacting?

Mine went through a spell when it must have thought it was a gypsy, it was fine. It did run through a cycle each time I turned it on, but it was very short and no obvious guzzling of ink.

So I am with Paul on this.....however if yours empties the carts......I blame Paul.

I might be wrong on this, and I can't verify it as our Ricoh is only used as an office printer now, but the last time this was discussed on here, I think it was related to a power cut, and not a proper shutdown and startup of the printer.

Mine had a nasty spill. Try and keep it as level as possible is the only advice I can give.

Don't all printers go through hat big initial charging period when turned on? Epson says wait up to twelve minutes.

I have moved mine a few times now.. agree the keeping it level thing will be advisable.. but won't use too much ink on the starting itself back up routine..

It's the waste ink container where the spills come from.
