Yeah we you on that page click "edit elements" and remove the template so you end up with just the customers design then save that ready for printing

Unfortunately not you would get the full image uploaded by the customer but you could then crop it in photoshop
You could also download the image with the template and use that as a guide where to place the original image

Or make your template slightly bigger on the designer so when you download it you can crop it so that you get rid of the template and just have the cropped image ready for printing

It just finding a way that your comfortable doing

yeah the larger designer seems best, but I can imagine its annoying having to go through these steps when dealing with many orders! i wish it was print ready straight from the designer, do you use a theme with your site as I read that the designer comes with its own?

I find it quite easy as all my templates have bleed area so I Dow load the full image open it in coreldraw and crop the template away and print it

The designer has a theme as such just in the way that you can change the colour of the bar in the settings and control where the elements box appears e.g left, top etc but it wouldn't alter open cart your best off buying a good theme or create your own

Found my way to do this, I will have a blank (phone mug etc)template in png form set as the top layer, customer uploads their pic underneath then all they can see is their clipped image on screen. customer approves product design and pays!

in the back end i look at their order, remove my template and leave their edited parts (photo, text etc) then export this to a pdf in jpeg form ( as png seems to be broken once template is removed)

This leave me with a pdf of their design minus my blank template ready for printing, to make sure the size is correct i will not choose fit to page.

once printed i will just match up the image "by eye" to the substrate and tape and transfer!

It would be better if i had a system setup to make the "by eye" redundant as I feel this will be hard in future, Is that where Corel come into play ?

Does this method sound right or too long winded?

It's easier when the customer has text on as all u need to do it line the case insert up with the text. When it's just an image I tend to use parts of the image as reference points to line case insert or save both the complete image and the image without your template and open both in photoshop
