Have you tried a different mug? I got a mug in a box once that was printing blank...must've had no sublimation coating on it!

Im am now finding out how expensive it can be, so far I scrapped 4 mugs all looking the same, tried higher temp changed paper round just to check, and the paper is xpres xp4072a. The person I brought printer off on ebay has his own sublimation business, the cartridges are refills I believe but have as >ps< on them? It's just disheartening this happening when I have printed 36 with no problem then it's gone completely wrong?

That cartridge is exactly the same looking as a standard ricoh black cart (not sublimation), even down to the PS you mention. Is there any evidence of it having been refilled? If not, I wonder is it possible like Paul mentioned earlier, that there was originally sublimation ink in the printer, then normal carts were put in, but its taken until now for the normal ink to get through the pipes?

If you don't know what type of ink is in there how can you know what carts to put in when they run out? Certainly doesn't sound like subli ink and if its not Subli you're likely to have all sorts of probvlems, price you paid for printer and inks would be best clue ;-)

You probably have the wrong ink for your printer. Those Ricoh printers require gel ink, whereas Sublinova sublimation ink is for Epson printers. If you bought the set up second hand, who knows what the seller was experimenting with and decided to off load it.

I wouldn't buy any printer second hand printer set up, the printers are cheap, so it might be better to set up brand new.

The printer was brand new. From seller, opened and cartridges exchange for sublimation ink. I don't understand how it's worked so far and not just stops working, I will have to get sawgrass inks I think, and get my printer cleaned out, you only learn the hard way, and I'm learning.

You're a Premium Member so go to Listawood, Xpres etc. and get 10% off a new Ricoh :-) keep that one for office docs etc.

That is, without a shadow of a doubt, a genuine Ricoh cartridge. 100%.

Additionally it will almost certainly be cheaper and less hassle to buy a whole new set up and use the printer you've now filled with Ricoh ink as a standard printer as Justin has suggested.
