Re: Problem with image not transferring onto mug

Post by Simong12 »

I have gone to do a mug tonight and for some reason it won't transfer from the paper to mug, the only thing is I haven't used my printer for a while. I've done nothing different to normal, it's just the ink doesn't transform onto mug properly as it really faint, ?

Yeah they are sublimation mugs this is one I did before. Xpres transfer paper, the mug that didn't print was hot aswell so that's why I'm thinking ink and not mug press heating up properly. Time and temp same as normal. I'm puzzled,

A faint yellow transfer on a sublimation mug is often caused by printing the image with genuine Ricoh inks rather than sublimation inks.

That is a problem I don't know make of inks, but they are sublimation inks as I have made about 36 mugs so far . But then last after not using printer for couple of months it won't work.and haven't changed cartridges. I did a test page on printer first to make sure the nozzles weren't blocked. And that was fine so printed it no problem but went through process in mug press and then faint image?

There is loads of ink in pipes so even after replacing carts you could make perfectly fine print outs. What does it say on th carts.
